Labor of love
Today we want to take a moment to honor Labor Day. This federal holiday is more than just a 3-day long weekend day, an occasion that marks the end of summer and the beginning of fall, or even an indicator to stop wearing white clothing.
We need to remember that Labor Day “honors the American labor movement and the contributions that workers have made to the strength, prosperity, laws, and well-being of the country.”
Thank you Wikipedia for such a precise definition. Indeed, it is much more than that, especially those who own their own small businesses or employed by a small business. The working conditions that we have today, whether or not you feel it is adaquate, is not as bad as they were and that is something we should all appreciate and celebrate as we continue to strive for even better conditions in the future. We selected the perfect #RADARmotivation quote from Theodore Roosevelt that captured this exact sentiment, “It is only through labor and painful effort, by grim energy and resolute courage that we move on to better things.”
Labor Day should also be a day to recognize the labor of love that business owners pour into their work with the goal of making the world a much better place because of their business. It’s a serious responsibility and we all should never take it for granted. So, here's to you!
We hope you enjoy your day of rest this Labor Day and when you’re ready to rock on Tuesday, we’ll be here supporting you. Happy Labor Day!
We honor you small businessowners!
